Thin Silicone RGB Color-Chasing LED Strips for DIY Retrofits
APP-controlled 5V RGB color-chasing LED strips for custom headlight, fog light, DRL, and automotive lighting retrofits.
These are the same thin silicone-covered LED strips and controller systems used in our custom fog light builds, offered as a raw component kit for experienced DIY retrofitters and professional installers.
Each kit includes your selected number of flexible LED strips, an independent 5V power harness, and a Bluetooth APP controller. Choose between a basic RGB setup for manual color control or an RGBWA switchback setup with vehicle-triggered DRL and turn-signal functions.
These are not finished headlight or fog light assemblies. Cutting, mounting, routing, sealing, wiring, and testing must be completed by the installer.

LED Strip Length Options

The strips may be trimmed only at approved cut points. Measure the intended mounting path before selecting a length or making any permanent cuts.
Chipset & Harness Options
RGBWA — DRL & Sequential Switchback
This option adds functional vehicle inputs in addition to full APP-controlled RGB lighting.

The RGBWA harness requires the installer to identify and tap the appropriate factory lighting circuits for:
- Driver-side turn signal
- Passenger-side turn signal
- Automatic white DRL input
- Parking-light input for the welcome animation
When a turn signal is activated, the RGB animation is temporarily interrupted by the sequential amber turn function. The strips can also switch automatically to white during DRL operation.
RGB — APP Control Only
This option is intended for customers who want manual RGB control without vehicle-triggered DRL or turn-signal functions.

This is the simpler harness option and is well suited for custom builds where the lighting will be controlled entirely through Bluetooth or an upgraded BlueGhozt system.
Number of Strips
- Dual Kit — Two Strips: Includes two LED strips for one strip per side or another custom two-strip layout
- Quad Kit — Four Strips: Includes four LED strips for upper and lower DRLs, headlights plus fog lights, or another custom four-strip configuration
5V Wiring System
The kit includes an independent 12V-to-5V step-down harness. Everything downstream from the converter operates on 5V.
Never apply 12V directly to the LED strips, controller outputs, or any component located after the step-down converter. Connecting these strips to a 12V RGB kit will permanently damage them.
The 5V system can be incorporated into compatible DOCTORdripp headlight, fog light, or BlueGhozt builds when the strip direction, connector layout, pixel count, and controller configuration are planned correctly.
Retrofit Installation Requirements
Professional retrofitting and installation are required. The installer is responsible for:
- Opening the headlight, fog light, or selected housing
- Planning strip placement and animation direction
- Mounting the strips without sharp bends or excessive tension
- Routing wiring safely through the housing
- Making all required vehicle input connections
- Testing every function before sealing
- Resealing the housing against moisture intrusion
Always bench-test the strips, harness, controller, direction, and input functions before permanently mounting or sealing the assembly.

Install difficulty varies by kit. Plug-n-play strips and emblems are usually 30–60 minutes. Headlight retrofits are intended for experienced builders or shops; reach out for installer recommendations.
